These six evocations are a welcome addition to the modern guitar repertory of advanced musical students. Composed on and for the guitar, they are quite manageable despite their not shying away from several technical challenges. Style-wise, the compositions are somewhere between impressionistic and modern in nature, while the melodies are consistently based on recognisable themes. The title, ‘Evocations’, refers to the various moods evoked by the pieces. The various speeds, harmonical design and changes of pace make the whole very diversified.

All pieces have been recorded by Eugène den Hoed on Iduna CD ‘Music for Guitar’ volume 3 HTVE 51449 and by Johannes Möller “Evocations“.
